Anterior (front) image revealing nonunion and failed hardware for the fixation of a comminuted, right mid shaft femoral fracture. 2. Surgical incision at the hip and knee bilaterally to remove the locking screws. 3. Long incision with exposure of the full length of the femur. 4. Removal of the failed intramedullary nail. 5. Placement of a long 12-hole plate and screws. 6. Final anterior view revealing the post-operative condition with new plate and screws in place to stabilize the nonunion site.
