A prominent disc herniation at C4-5 is removed with pituitary forceps. Marrow blood is aspirated from C5 vertebral body using a Jamshidi needle and the blood is used to dampen the Vitoss in it. A PEEK cage is filled with Vitoss and taped into place into the C4-5 vertebral interspace. A cervical plate is affixed to C4 and C5 vertebrae with screws.
