This medical exhibit features the key steps in the additional exploratory laparotomy and subsequent drainage of the sub-hepatic inter-loop abscesses and the pelvic abscess. It depicts the re-opening of the previous large midline incision. Through this exposure, we iillustrate the mobilization of the bowel to exposure the multiple abscesses and adhesions. Next, we will illustrate the drainage of the pelvic abscess and perinephric abscess and then irrigation of the upper quadrants. The placement of drains is included in the illustration which will feature the repair of the abdominal wall with vicryl mesh and the suture closure.rn
