Proposed Triple Arthodesis Surgery
Proposed Triple Arthodesis Surgery

This medical exhibit provides an overview of the proposed triple arthrodesis surgical procedure due to pain from the misalignment of the subtalar joint, bony overgrowth of the healed calcaneal fracture. and the joint degeneration resulting from arthritis/a severe flat foot deformity. This procedure's purpose is to relieve pain in the rear part of the foot, improve stability of the foot, and correct deformity of the foot. This surgical procedure fuses the three main joints of the hindfoot: the subtalar joint, calcaneocuboid joint and the talonavicular joint. Several key steps of the surgical procedures are illustrated including the initial incision, debridement of bony over growth and the internal fixation of the three main joints of the hindfoot with screws.
