Comminuted Fractures of the Right Lower Leg with Surgical Fixation

ID: exh74473
This stock medical exhibit begins with an artist's interpretation of an actual X-ray showing comminuted fractures of the distal tibia and fibula, alongside the actual X-ray film. Next, an anterior view of the right leg with the bones visible beneath the skin shows the repaired fractures and the intermedullary nail in place. Two additional films appear as insets. The third image is similar to the second, but at this point the fractures are healed and the locking screws have been removed. Finally, an additional inset image shows a side view of the right knee joint with chondromalacia of the patella, scarring of Hoffa's fat pad, and patellar tendinosis.
