Pre-operative Condition

This exhibit will features an anterior view of the abdomen illustrating the pre-operative condition. The first image shows the anatomy of the upper abdomen from an anterior (front) view. This view shows the large midline incision extending down the abdomen from the previous surgical procedures. The skeletal anatomy of the ribcage is shown transparently beneath the skin showing that the incision starts just below the xiphoid. Also, the large amount of Marlex mesh is shown transparently beneath the skin revealing that it was placed up to the xiphoid and extends out laterally to the angle of the ribs.
