Lumbar Spine Injuries with Surgical Decompression Procedure
Lumbar Spine Injuries with Surgical Decompression Procedure

This stock medical exhibit features an initial sagittal (side cut-away) view of the lumbar spine and one axial (horizontal cross section) of the L4-5 disc space. These images clearly illustrate the pre-operative condition with a left sided disc herniation at L4-5 causing impingement of the exiting nerve roots at this level. Additionally, multiple steps of the laminectomy-foraminotomy decompression procedure are illustrated in graphic detail. Images include the incision into the low back, exposure and removal of lamina at L4-5, removal of herniated fragments form the nerve areas, along with a repeat decompression one added level down at L5-S1.
