Thoracic and Lumbar Spinal Abnormalities

This medical exhibit begins with one large sagittal (side cut-away) view of the entire spine from the skull base down to the the sacrum. This image is based on both CT and MRI scans and reveals the disc bulges and canal stenosis in the lumbar spine at L2-3, L3-4 and L4-5, as well as the spinal tumor and cord compression at T9-10. This image clearly shows the locations of each of these pathologies. rnrnAlso, one enlarged coronal (anterior cut-away) view of the thoracic region is included revealing the spinal cord within the spinal canal, the associated spinal arteries and the paraspinal tumor at the T9-10 level. This image shows the dumbbell shape of the tumor within the spinal canal and exiting throughout the neural foramen.
