This image shows the skeletal anatomy of this region, as well as the nerves including the nerve roots at each level of the spine and which course down the legs. A bright flash of red over the L4-5 level represents the site of the initial injury. This red color radiates across the lower back and down along the nerves through the right buttock and down into the right leg representing the radiculopathy in this case.
