Arthroscopic Repairs of the TMJ

This stock medical exhibit depicts arthroscopic repairs of the temporomandibular joint. The first illustration shows the placement of arthroscopic instruments. The second illustration shows an arthroscopic view in which an anterior meniscal release is preformed to free up the joint capsule. The third illustration shows a portion of the TMJ meniscus being removed. The final illustration shows the medial and lateral collateral ligaments and posterior attachments being lasered to tighten and restore the meniscus position.
