This medical exhibit features one skeletal view of the bones of the lower leg and foot created to illustrate the fractures of the tibia, fibula and calcaneus. It also includes the severe avulsion injury to the foot. An inset of the comminuted angulated tranverse fracture of the right fibula and tibia of included. Also, three steps of the surgical fixation procedure are shown including the debridement of the necrotic degloved skin of the foot, the fixation of the fractured calcaneus, and finally the anteromedical parapatellar incision and tibial fixation with a intramedullary rod.
