This is a custom exhibit that illustrates three surgical steps and a postoperative condition image.rnrnThe first image is of the initial incision over the lateral right ankle. The second image shows the removal of the end of the fibula being removed. The third step illustrates the insertion of three screws across the ankle joint from the talus into the tibia.rnrnThe post-operative condition is illustrated with an anterolateral film interpretation of the ankle with the three screws in place and two examples of the actual films, one matching the interpretation and one from a lateral scan, as insets.
