Post-operative Disc Fragment
Post-operative Disc Fragment

This stock medical exhibit features three separate views of the L5-S1 vertebral level, one axial view (from above), one lateral view (from the side) and one posterior intra-operative view (from behind). The axial and lateral views clearly show the annulus is present, although there are small gaps in this structure, and shows a disc and cartilage fragment within the neural foramen. The intra-operative posterior view shows the cauda equina retracted and the annulus in place and again revealing a fragment off to the side in the region of the foramen.
