This board includes images for the patient’s condition which included a previous anterior cervical fusion screw becoming unsecured and several subsequent surgeries.rnrnThe pre-operative condition is a color interpretation of the lateral cervical spine with the initial anterior fusion hardware, highlighting the movement of the left C6 vertebral screw coming out of position. The next three images on the left side of the board illustrate three steps from the surgery on 11/9/10. These include the reopening of the initial incision on the right side of the neck, the removing of the loose screw and replacement with a larger screw, and the retightening of the locking mechanism over the new screw.rnrnThe right side of the board is dedicated to depicting the condition on 11/17/10 and subsequent surgery on 11/18/10. The image of the condition illustrates how the new screw is also not staying in position. The surgical images include the reopening and extension to the left of the incision line and the massive scarring that the team encountered when they attempted to access the plate and screws.rn
