Cervical Disc Herniation with Surgical Decompression and Disc Replacement

ID: exh71098
This exhibit begins with one sagittal (side cut-away) view of the cervical spine illustrating the pre-operative condition. This image clearly reveals the disc herniation at the C5-6 level. This image is specifically based on the pre-operative MRI scan mounted beside the color interpretation. Next, one intra-operative image is included representing the C5-6 anterior decompression and total disc replacement procedure. Although this is not a comprehensive illustration of the step-by-step surgery, it's representational of the extensive nature of the incision and exposure with the disc replacement being removed. Finally, one additional skeletal view of the cervical spine is included illustrating the post-operative condition. This image clearly shows that the disc has been removed and reveals the disc replacement hardware in place.
