Amputations of the Middle Finger

This stock medical exhibit first shows the amputation of the tip of the right middle finger, then an additional amputation at the proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joint. The first illustration shows a palmar view of the right hand with the injured tip of the middle finger being removed along with damaged thumb tissue. The second illustration shows a rongeur removing the tip of the finger bone, and the third illustration shows the closure of tissue flaps over the bone. The next illustration shows the subsequent removal of the infected and ischemic finger at the PIP joint. The final illustration shows the stump being sutured closed.
